Cannabis Market Intelligence Software
See the whole cannabis market at the store level: your share, your competitors, and the territories where you’re not on the shelf yet. Hoodie turns that signal into your next move, and the right people to make it with.
Hoodie Market Intelligence is cannabis market intelligence software that tracks retail sales velocity, weighted ACV distribution, and competitor market share at the store level across all 42 legal U.S. cannabis markets, plus several Canadian provinces. Cannabis brands and retailers use it to benchmark performance against direct competitors, uncover underpenetrated territories, and prioritize distribution expansion. Data is sourced from direct POS, ERP, and seed-to-sale integrations plus item-level storefront monitoring across 12,000+ dispensaries, refreshed daily.
The platform
Four ways to see where you stand, and what to do next
Each capability opens with what it does, backed by how Hoodie measures it. Built for the people who own the number: sales leaders, category managers, brand founders, and distribution teams.
Competitor analysis & market share
Hoodie shows your exact market share against named competitors in any territory, down to the individual store.
Benchmark your position against direct competitors, watch where rivals are gaining or losing distribution, and catch emerging brands before they scale. Because the view is store-level, you see not just who’s winning the market, but who’s winning the shelves that matter to you.
For brands
Know which competitors share your shelves, and where you’re being out-placed.
For retailers
See which brands are driving velocity in stores like yours before you set the assortment.
Velocity & weighted distribution in custom territories
Hoodie measures sales velocity and weighted ACV distribution for any brand or SKU inside territories you define.
Draw a territory the way your business actually runs (a set of counties, a radius around key stores, or an affluence and demographic segment), and Hoodie scores velocity and weighted distribution independently for it. A brand in 40 high-volume stores is never scored the same as a brand in 40 slow ones.
For brands
See your weighted ACV and velocity scored fairly, in the exact territory you’re being judged on.
For retailers
Score a brand’s real velocity in your own trade area before you commit shelf space.
Market penetration & coverage insights
Hoodie identifies the stores and regions where your brand is underrepresented, and the products selling well that you don’t yet carry.
Find the territories where you’re under-shelved relative to demand, and the fast-moving items your competitors stock that you don’t. It’s the difference between being in a lot of stores and being in the stores that matter.
For brands
Surface regions where you’re underrepresented and rank them by opportunity.
For retailers
Spot proven, fast-moving items you don’t stock yet.
Sales trends & performance tracking
Hoodie tracks seasonal patterns, SKU-level velocity shifts, and regional benchmarks over time, refreshed daily.
Watch demand move before it shows up in your own reorder data. Compare performance across regions, catch a SKU losing velocity while there’s still time to act, and know which way a market is turning, every day, not every quarter.
For brands
Catch a SKU’s velocity turning before it shows up in your own reorder data.
For retailers
See which categories are heating up or cooling off before next month’s order.
This is where the Source of Truth Argument matters most: an AI is only as smart as the data underneath it, and market share, distribution, and velocity are only useful if they’re accurate. Ask the AI tools your team already uses to pull a territory’s competitive picture through Hoodie’s MCP connection (the link that lets AI query Hoodie’s live data directly), and it answers from the numbers this page describes, not a stale export.
Terms, defined
The vocabulary this product runs on
- Weighted ACV distribution
- The share of total category sales occurring in the stores that carry your product, rather than the raw count of stores. Hoodie calculates weighted ACV distribution per SKU within any custom territory, so a brand in 40 high-volume stores is not scored the same as a brand in 40 low-volume stores.
- Sales velocity
- The rate at which a product sells through at retail, measured as units or dollars per store over a set period. Velocity shows demand strength independent of how many stores stock the item.
- Market penetration
- The share of available stores in a territory that carry your brand or SKU. Read alongside weighted distribution, penetration separates “in a lot of stores” from “in the stores that actually move volume.”
- Custom territory
- A user-defined area: a set of counties, a radius around a store, or an affluence or demographic segment, that Hoodie scores independently.
